The European Vocational Skills Week is an annual event during which local, regional or national organisations showcase the best of vocational education and training (VET) – a sector capable of empowering all people with the skills they need for a fulfilling personal and professional life. After five editions, the event has become an exchange platform for VET stakeholders around Europe and beyond. The 2020 Week takes place in Berlin in November, with hundreds of smaller events happening throughout the year and across Europe.
There are three ways you can get involved and help spread the message of VET’s capacity to change lives.
1. Register an event
There are currently 213 European Vocational Skills Week partner events/activities happening in 26 countries, reaching more than 625 000 people. If you are organising a VET-related event/activity, register it on the website to have it promoted on the site and potentially featured on our social media, newsletters and videos. On registering, you will receive promotional material and tools to help publicise the event/activity through your network. We’re encouraging you to organise digital events/activities to promote VET – it could be a webinar, digital press campaign, online careers fair, Facebook Live, Instagram Live or another online gathering. Follow our step-by-step guide to register and become an official partner of the European Vocational Skills Week 2020.
2. Share your story
Don’t forget to share your VET success story with others! There’s a special section for this on the European Vocational Skills Week website. Read the stories of organisations and individuals and be inspired by how VET is influencing their lives and their communities. Are you in contact with VET students? Encourage them to send us their VET success stories and inspire future students all over Europe.
3. Apply for the Excellence Awards
The VET Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to showcase your organisation or share your passion and commitment to VET. The Awards recognise committed people, organisations and outstanding projects and reward them for their endeavours. If you take part in, organise or support VET, if you believe your activities are of the highest quality and if you think they should be shared with the European VET community, apply here for one of the 2020 Awards for VET Excellence.
