Conferencia conjunta ECFIN-CESE: el camino a seguir para la gobernanza económica de la UE

La Dirección General de Asuntos Económicos y Financieros de la Comisión Europea y el Comité Económico y Social Europeo, organizan el próximo 22 de febrero una conferencia, en línea, sobre la gobernanza económica de la UE.

Con este evento se pretende que tanto sociedad civil, sindicatos, ciudadanos y representantes de los empleadores, generen un amplio debate en torno a la Revisión de la Gobernanza Económica.

El evento comenzará con los discursos de apertura de Christa Schweng, presidenta del Comité Económico y Social Europeo, y el comisario de Economía, Paolo Gentiloni. A continuación, los panelistas de las instituciones y órganos de la UE, los interlocutores sociales y los representantes de las organizaciones no gubernamentales ofrecerán sus puntos de vista sobre los aspectos de la revisión.

    Session 1: Social cohesion, debt sustainability and growth
    Is high public debt the result of weak fiscal discipline or is it due to low growth? How can fiscal and economic policies deliver fair outcomes for present and future generations? Should Member States focus on consolidating their public finances or should they prioritise structural reforms?  Can fiscal consolidation be growth friendly.
